Trish
"I
was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana where I gained an appreciation for
good food and lively entertaining. I have been serving food to friends
and family since I arrived in Austin and finally, after 12 years, decided
to venture into the catering business. Dinner Parties by Trish, a catering
business I began with one of my best friends, specialized in Spanish,
French, Italian, and Greek cuisine.
A little over a year ago I was asked to start writing culinary articles
and restaurant reviews for a local newspaper and more recently began writing
for Texas Cooking Magazine. I write about food and wine, health supplements,
avoiding harmful ingredients in our commercial foods and I provide fun
and healthy recipes.
I’ve brought this experience and love for food to my Personal Chef
business. After years and years of cooking and eating empty carb pastas,
dishes made with heavy cream sauces and cheeses and eating French baguette’s
(white bread) daily, I was introduced to a new type of eating. This changed
my life. I immediately began feeling better, looking leaner (I dropped
7% of my body fat) and I have more energy than I’ve ever had in
my life. This is what I want to share with you. I have permanently changed
the way I and my kids eat and we are happier and healthier than ever.
I feel good about offering my kids a healthy meal for dinner and I also
feel good about setting a good example for them by eating healthy myself.
That doesn’t mean we don’t “cheat” sometimes or
indulge occasionally in something we wouldn’t normally eat but day
in and day out, we eat plenty of complex carbohydrates, lean proteins
and fibrous vegetables all cooked with healthy methods and flavored with
herbs and spices.
We are what we eat---and we are proud of it. Let me show you how you can
be proud of eating healthy as well."
